Each staple needle is handmade in either local wood or surplus wood. The needles measure approx. 7-8 cm. The hole size varies a bit, but is basically big enough for thick yarn.
The types of wood change depending on what is available.
I only use hard woods, but the needles are thin and should be treated more carefully than regular metal needles. You can give the needles a little oil every now and then, to take extra good care of them.
The laburnum is originally a shrub, but this has grown the size of a tree and was felled in my garden in Søborg because it had to be discarded.
This ash is sourced in Sweden and is a surplus product from a kitchen worktop.
